July dives around Cape Ann were very uneventful with lack of variety. The conditions were really good with great visibility but there was nothing much to see beyond many baby cunners.
Among the two dives here and other two dives I did the following week at Loblolly Point, the high point was the last bit of the seaslugs we saw. We caught a bunch of D. coronata in a final orgy session in their best outfits. They had beautiful patterns and looked like little candies. We also found a new slug that was so very tiny, barely identifiable through the photos, but it looked similar to a placida species.
Even though we did not observe a great variety of life it was great to be out under the sun and then under the surface. I miss those warm days already, right now in October as I write this.
